Obituary: Wirth, Myron Eugene “Mike” Bud”

Age 87

WIRTH, Myron Eugene “Mike” Bud” Died on November 11th, 2015.

He was born in Lapeer, Michigan on June 6, 1928 of Helen and Ray Wirth Sr.

He was the loving husband of Patricia, whom he married in 1951.

Together they had eight children, Marie 1952-1975, Jeff Wirth (Pam), Janet Provinsal (Ron), Barbara Miller, Robert Wirth 1958 - 2009, Margaret Rasmussen, Carol Wirth, and William Wirth (Debbie).

He is survived by his wife, Pat; and six of his children; and grandchildren, Jonathan and Laura Wirth, Jane and Trisha Provinsal, Thomas and Sally Miller, Jackson Wirth, Justina and Alisha Jackson, Shawna and Kelly Miller, Nolan and Max Wirth, seven great grandchildren; and his sister Mary Cone.

He was lovingly referred to as the “Patriarch General” of his family.

Mike earned his Doctorate at Michigan State University and was a professor of Agricultural Finance at Washington State University in Pullman from 1965 to 1994.

He was an agricultural economist who started and ran a school for bankers to learn agricultural finance for 30 years.

Mike served in the Military Police Corps in the United States Army as a first Lieutenant.

He was a crack shot, a devoted football fan, a jazz music connoisseur, a consummate storyteller and a copious consumer of popcorn.

He loved to laugh and had a quirky sense of humor.

Mike put his family first and was a hard worker.

He was continuously “On a mission from God.”

He loved God Almighty, his Creator and Redeemer, his family, and his country.

His life was guided by his unshakable faith.

He did not fear as he left us, for he knew that he would be grasped by the right hand of our God.

A Vigil service will be held Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 7:00 P.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 219 E. Rockwood Blvd., Spokane, WA.

Memorial Mass Friday, November 20 at 11:00 A.M. at the church.

Urn placement to follow, with military honors at Holy Cross Cemetery.
