Obituary: Evans, Barry C.

Age 54

EVANS, Barry C. (Age 54) Barry passed away on November 4, 2015 in his sleep at his home in Deer Park, WA due to many health complications that he fought bravely and courageously for 7 years.

Barry was born January 30, 1961 in Spokane, WA to Glen L. and Ruth A. Evans.

He graduated from Deer Park H.S.

in 1979 where he excelled in wrestling and baseball.

Barry followed in his fathers’ footsteps and became a Journeyman Electrician for IBEW Local 73.

He started his apprenticeship in 1979 and worked on many union construction projects throughout the Northwest and was a proud union brother and member.

In 2008, while a foreman for Mountain States Electric, Barry’s illness forced him to medically retire.

Barry was an avid amateur motor cross racer; hunter and also enjoyed playing baseball and cribbage.

He was also a proud supporter of his nephew Steven’s wrestling career and attended wrestling matches even though he was in extreme pain.

Barry was very mechanically inclined and could fix and build anything.

He spent many summers at the family cabin on Lake Pend Oreille swimming, fishing, water skiing, jet skiing and maintaining the cabin.

He eventually settled on 10 acres in Deer Park, WA which he fondly referred to as the “Ranger Station” where he took care of his pets and hand fed the native deer.

Barry was a very caring and generous person and loved his family dearly.

He would help anyone in need and would be quick to put their needs above his own.

He would always try to bring out the best in people and encourage them to always do their best.

He will be greatly missed.

Barry is survived by his son, Barry Lee Evans; daughter, Sandra Angeline Kowolik; grandson, Noah Kowolik; brother, Randy Kindya; nephew Steven Kindya and six cousins.

A Celebration of Barry’s Life will be held at David’s Pizza, 803 N. Post on Sunday December 6, 2015 at 1:00.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Spokane Humane Society and North Central Wrestling @ 1600 N. Howard St., Spokane WA 99205 in Barry’s name.
