Obituary: Johnson, Margaret L.

JOHNSON, Margaret L. Margaret Louise Johnson passed away peacefully at home with her family on Sunday, November 1, 2015.

She was 88.

Born Margaret Louise Callahan, on June 17, 1927 in Superior, Wyoming to Cornelius and Hulda Ann Callahan, she was the sixth child of seven.

Margaret graduated from high school in Baggs, Wyoming in 1945 and entered Cadet Nurse Training in Salt Lake City.

World War II ended while she completed nurses training, in 1948.

In 1947, she met and married Robert M. Johnson in Salt Lake City.

The family moved to Pasco, Washington 1950, as jobs were plentiful at the Hanford Nuclear Facility.

Together, they worked hard and raised four children they loved dearly.

Margaret worked as a nurse caring for others for 45 years.

In 1989, she and Robert both retired in Spokane, then moved to Sequim, Washington.

Robert died in 1997.

In 2001, Margaret moved back to Spokane to be near her children.

For 14 years, she enjoyed nurturing friendships with her sorority sisters in Beta Sigma Phi, friends and neighbors in her community, and her family.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and her first born, Robert Leroy, in 1957.

She is survived by her daughter, Catherine in Wenatchee, son James in Hawaii, son Max in Spokane, brother Neal in Burien, seven grandchildren, and 15 great-children.

Interment is in Kennewick, WA.
