Obituary: Putman, Philip Myron
Age 72
Philip was born June 8, 1943 in Portland, Oregon to Tracy and Edna Putman.
He grew up in Moscow, Idaho with his two sisters and many cousins.
At 18 he enlisted in the Navy where he served in the US Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (Seabees) and served several years in Okinawa, Japan and Kodiak, Alaska.
After his military service, he became a Hydraulic Tech, working for R.A. Hanson and Plum Creek saw mill.
He retired as a truck driver in 2008 and has been residing in Nine Mile Falls, WA for 10 years where he was a strong influence in his community.
He was a member of the planning team for the Chamber of Commerce, 4th of July commitee, lawn mower races and food pantry as well as being a founding member of Lake Spokane Community Church of Our Savior.
Philip had four kids, the oldest daughter preceded him in death in 1985.
His three remaining children currently reside in Spokane and he has four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 6 at Lake Spokane Community Church of Our Savior with potluck to follow next door at the community center.
A private family burial will be at Zion Hill Cemetery in Clayton, WA.
“A hole is left in our hearts and family that only he can fill, but we will see him again when God calls us home”.
