New artwork to be dedicated at Spokane Central Service Center

A new sculpture by Coeur d’Alene artists Allen and Mary Dee Dodge will be dedicated next Thursday at 11 a.m. at Spokane’s new Central Service Center.

The dedication will be at a grassy area on the north end of the building site at 900 N. Nelson St. in the Chief Garry Park Neighborhood. The Spokane Central Service Center consolidates fleet maintenance for city vehicles with Solid Waste and Street operations, such as fueling stations and vehicle washing and repair. The center opened in August.

The artists will be on hand at the dedication to talk about their work, which consists of seven steel figures of animal forms.

Spokane Arts has been overseeing the project. The dedication is free and open to the public.
