Bond increased for vehicular homicide suspect
The woman who drove the wrong way on Interstate 90 on Tuesday, leading to a crash that killed a man now faces a charge of vehicular homicide.
Carrah C. Goble, 24, is suspected of being drunk when she drove her car westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-90 early Tuesday near Division Street, causing a five-car crash. One driver, Ronald Morrison, was ejected from his car when it rolled. He died of his injuries Thursday.
Goble remains in the Spokane County Jail. Her bond was doubled to $200,000 Friday after her charge was changed from vehicular assault to vehicular homicide.
Spokane County Deputy Prosecutor Jack Driscoll said he also plans to seek vehicular homicide charges against Christopher T. Nelson. Nelson was involved in a serious crash on Maple Street early Wednesday morning and also is suspected of being drunk.
Nelson’s mother, Nancy Wennstrom, was injured in the crash and later died. He was originally charged with vehicular assault and posted a $10,000 bond Thursday evening to get out of jail.
Driscoll said he is waiting for an updated affidavit of probable cause from police and will file the new charge once he receives it.
