Obituary: Blencoe, Barbara (Mitchell)

BLENCOE, Barbara (Mitchell) Barbara (Mitchell) Blencoe left her mortal life and rejoined her Heavenly Father on October 17, 2015 She was born in 1934 in the “Back Woods” of Northern Wisconsin, but while in grade school, migrated with her family to Western Washington (Tacoma and Olympia) where she grew up.

She moved to Spokane in 1971 where she lived in the same house for the next 44 years.

She is survived by Jim, her loving husband of 57 years and two surviving children and nine grandchildren.

She is also survived by her five brothers and sisters who look up to their “big” sister with love and respect.

She was a warm, caring person and was always “there” for others.

She will be sorely missed.

Barbara was involved in arts and crafts, the church and community activities such as tutoring adults in the English language.

Barbara and Jim were really into square dancing and danced all over the country for many years.

The family requests any memorial contributions be made in Barbara’s name to Cancer Care Northwest in Spokane.

There will be no formal funeral or services.
