Teen charged for alleged role in prostitution ring

A 15-year-old is being charged as an adult for his alleged role in a prostitution ring that police believe is led by his 17-year-old brother.

Dionte Hunter was ordered held on $175,000 bond Thursday on charges of promoting prostitution, promoting commercial sexual abuse of a minor, possession of child porn, distribution of child porn and first-degree robbery.

Hunter’s brother, Thaishaun Hunter, has been in jail since February for his suspected role in a shooting in Hillyard. The alleged prostitution ring came to light in recorded phone calls Thaishaun Hunter made to his brother and others from jail, according to court documents. Thaishaun Hunter is also facing similar prostitution charges.

The child porn charges Dionte Hunter is facing are due to a nude photo of a teenage girl that he allegedly took and posted on Facebook.

According to court documents, Dionte Hunter has had numerous, increasingly violent contacts with police since he was 12. Court records say that he once assaulted a teacher at Garry Middle School while a student there. He has two previous felony convictions.
