Two stabbings reported Friday
Spokane Police investigated two stabbings Friday and one of the victims suffered a life-threatening injury.
Police were called to Maxwell and Cedar early Friday evening for a fight between a man with a hammer and a man with a knife. The man with the hammer was stabbed in the neck and was in critical condition at a local hospital late Friday.
Police spokesman Cpl. Jordan Ferguson said it’s unclear if the man with the hammer was threatening the other man. “We really don’t know who the instigator of this whole thing was yet,” he said. “We know that they did have a prior history.”
The case is still under investigation and no one has been arrested.
A man was stabbed early Friday afternoon after an altercation near an apartment building at Maple and Dean in North Spokane.
The victim was taken to a local hospital after the 12:30 p.m. stabbing and his condition was unknown Friday evening.
Police are not sure if the victim and the suspect knew each other, said police spokeswoman Officer Teresa Fuller.
The suspect is described as a possibly a light skinned Hispanic male in his late 20’s wearing a green t-shirt. Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
