Obituary: Smith, Anita Marie

SMITH, Anita Marie 1925 ~ 2015 Anita Marie Smith passed away on August 25, 2015 at the age of 90.

She was born August 15, 1925 in Davenport, WA, the second child of William and Helga Schleer, and grew up on the Schleer farm in Fruitland, Washington, until the age of 18.

She graduated from Columbia High School in Hunters, Washington, after which she moved to Spokane and attended Kinman Business School.

She married Hugh T. Smith in 1946 and they lived in Colfax, Washington for several years where she worked as a librarian.

After moving to Spokane, Anita worked as a bookkeeper at Dishman Dodge and Zellerbach Paper Company.

Anita was predeceased by her husband, Hugh, her brother, Louis, and sister, Alyda.

She is survived by her brother Carl (Linda) Schleer of Spokane, brother Jorgen (Laura) Schleer of Sammamish, WA, and her sister Ruth (Ken) Johnson of Seattle, WA as well as many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, September 12th, 2015 at Evergreen Fountains, 1201 N. Evergreen, Spokane Valley, with reception following.
