Obituary: Henry, David Austin
Age 80
He was born on February 11, 1935 to Austin and Marie Henry in Centralia, Washington.
He grew up in Spokane, graduating from North Central High School.
He attended Eastern Washington University, eventually earning a Master’s Degree in Education and his administration certification from Whitworth College.
He proudly served in the Army as a Lieutenant in the Signal Corps.
David was a teacher in Spokane Public School for 35 years, spending the majority of his career at Shadle Park High School teaching math and driver’s education.
Outside of school, his favored pastime was managing his family’s tree farm business.
David was a man of strong faith, devoted to his family and loyal to his friends.
He was a lifelong learner sharing his wit, wisdom and wonder with all those who knew him.
David is survived by his wife of 45 years, Constance; children Leon (Theresa) Henry, Carolyn (Neal) Cary and Jennifer (Jon) Fergen; five grandchildren; sister Daisy (Hugh) Chapman; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Country Homes Christian Church in Spokane.
