Obituary: Rodstrom, Dennis P.

Age 73

RODSTROM, Dennis P. Dennis Paul Rodstrom passed away unexpectedly, June 9, 2015.

He was born September 21, 1941 in Everett, WA to Henry and Clara Rodstrom.

Dennis graduated from Lewis and Clark High School, Spokane, in 1960, and excelled in basketball and football.

His love of sports would follow him all of his life.

He was a “born salesman”; culminating with a career at Nordstrom, earning the prestigious Pace Setter awards every year.

He began a second career working with his hands, roofing beside his son, Kevin.

Dennis started Kittitas Modular Builders in 1994 and was named “Builder of the Year” by Stratford Building Corp. in 1995 for the Pacific NW region.

Many of the homes around Cle Elum and Kittitas bare his signature, and was the place he called home for more than twenty-five years.

A member of the Cle Elum Chamber of Commerce and Eagles Club, he was honored to represent the city and club as “Santa Claus” for many years.

Dennis enjoyed life and the game of golf; excelling at it, teaching it, and coordinating and winning many tournaments.

He even had three “hole in ones!”

He loved his family and friends and will be dearly missed.

Dennis left his loving wife of eight years, Russanne; daughters from his first marriage to Charlotte Anderson (Karling), Kari (Jon) Mason and Kristine (Timothy) Nix and stepdaughter Marisa (Marvin) Castillo; grandchildren, Roland (Brittany), Cameron, Mikayla and Kaitlyn Mason and Evan Castillo; nephew, Troy Rodstrom and niece, Tammi Rodstrom.

Dennis was predeceased by his brother, David, and son, Kevin.

A service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2015, at Fourth Memorial Church, 2000 N. Standard, to honor his life.
