Cougars’ perfect record intact
Cara Wegner and Kaitlyn Johnson scored their third goals of the season Thursday as Washington State’s women’s soccer team improved to 7-0-0 with a 3-0 nonconference victory over visiting Gonzaga (1-4-3).
Maddy Haro added her first goal of the season for the 25th-ranked Cougars. Ella Dederick earned the shutout with four saves.
College volleyball
Allie Schumacher had eight digs and 16 kills while hitting .727 to lead Eastern Washington to a 25-15, 25-14, 25-16 nonconference win over visiting Corban (4-8) at Reese Court.
Nicole Rigoni added 23 assists and Ryann Ensrud nine digs for EWU (5-6).
Indoor football
The Spokane Shock signed quarterback Charles “Chuck” Dowdell and running back/wide receiver Aaron Spikes to their roster in preparation for the 2016 Indoor Football League season.
Dowdell (Saginaw Valley State) was named Champions Indoor Football’s Most Valuable Player last year after passing for 2,128 yards and 48 touchdowns for the Sioux City Bandits.
Spikes, an IFL rookie, combined for 1,100 yards of total offense during his senior season at Belhaven (Mississippi) University.
Prep volleyball

Jordan Phelan tallied 20 kills and 15 digs to lead East Valley (2-1 Great Northern League) to a 3-2 win over visiting Pullman (1-1). EV’s Sydney Frogge added 30 assists. Pullman’s Melissa Langerveld had a game-high 25 kills.
IEL 5A
Post Falls posted a 3-0 sweep at Lewiston. Kaitlyn Ifley collected seven kills and Abbey Roy 12 digs for Lewiston.

Jacqueline Mallett had 10 kills and two aces as Timberlake defeated host Kellogg 3-0 in the Intermountain League. Kenzie Dean added seven digs and two aces for the Tigers.

Jenna Sullens scored both goals, including the winner in the fourth minute of overtime, to lead West Valley (3-1, 3-0) to a 2-1 win at Clarkston (2-1, 1-1). Makinzie Packwood scored for the Bantams in the 24th minute. … Also in the league, Maddie Bastin had one goal and one assist as East Valley (4-2, 2-1) posted a 4-0 win over visiting Pullman (2-3, 1-2).

Cecelia McAfee and Elizabeth Lehosit scored in the first half to lead Coeur d’Alene Charter (5-2, 4-1) to a 2-0 win over host Priest River (2-4, 2-3).
