STA adding bus times, altering routes
Passengers who ride the Spokane Transit Authority shuttle from the Plaza to the parking lots at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena are going to get an additional evening bus leaving at 8:15 p.m.
Currently, the last shuttle leaves at 7:15 p.m.
The change is part of STA’s September route modifications.
In another service improvement, STA is going to make connections easier for evening riders from Spokane Community College, Eastern Washington University and the Riverpoint Campus east of downtown.
STA is going to add evening service that will run directly between SCC and EWU through the Riverpoint Campus, making it easier for riders to make connections. The change will help students with evening classes at the colleges.
Four weekday evening trips on the No. 29 from SCC will go to the Plaza as normal, but leave the Plaza as the outbound No. 66 bus to EWU.
Likewise, three inbound evening trips from EWU will leave the Plaza as the outbound No. 29 to SCC.
Seven other routes are going to see minor changes in the time buses reach specific points along the route. The changes are being made in part to accommodate STA’s new real-time bus tracking at spokanetransit.com/betatripplanner.
The route timepoints are identified to help passengers know when the bus is going to arrive and for online tracking progress. The timepoints are changing on several routes.
Those routes are the No. 21 on West Broadway Avenue; No. 22 on Northwest Boulevard; No. 23 on Maple and Ash streets; No. 26 on Lidgerwood Street; No. 28 on Nevada Street; and No. 45 Regal Street.
The No. 29 Mission Avenue bus will have timepoint changes for the Minnehaha loop.
Riders on those routes should consult the new schedules to see if the changes affect them.
The changes started to take effect Sunday.
