Ex-boyfriend faces burglary charges

A man is facing burglary charges after he reportedly tried to enter his former girlfriend’s Liberty Lake apartment through a bedroom window.

The woman told police that her ex-boyfriend had knocked on her door in the 22000 block of East Country Vista Drive several times and then threw something against her bedroom window when she didn’t answer the door, said Police Chief Brian Asmus.

She told police that he took the screen off her bedroom window and started to climb outside, but ran off when she yelled at him. A witness told police that they saw the man running away from the women’s apartment, Asmus said.

The man was gone when officers arrived, but a burglary charge has been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office, Asmus said.
