Obituary: Winder, Burl “Windy”

WINDER, Burl “Windy” Burl “Windy” Winder took his last breath on earth and his first breath in heaven on September 12, 2015 with his family by his side.

He was born to John and Lucille Winder on November 16, 1934 in Athens, Tennessee.

Burl served in the U.S. Marine Corp and the Air Force including the Korean and Vietnam theatre.

While in the Marines he received the nickname, “Windy”, and after was known as Windy Winder.

He met Louella Duffy and was married July 17, 1964.

They had one child, Lisa, in 1966.

Windy found joy in life and with his Heavenly Father.

Windy was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles for over 20 years.

Lilac Plaza Retirement Community was his home for the last 10 years.

He loved and cherished the people he met and shared his life with at Lilac.

The family would like to thank Rocky Mountain Hospice and Rocky Mountain Care Center of Helena Montana for their compassionate care of their beloved dad.

He is survived by his daughter Lisa (Dan) Heitt and grandchildren Nick (Megan) Heitt and Sarah Heitt.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 26th, 2015 at Lilac Plaza Chapel, N. 7007 Wiscomb, Spokane, WA, at 1pm.
