Obituary: Mincks, Grace Laura

Age 98

MINCKS, Grace Laura (Greer) Passed away September 23, 2015.

Grace, 97, was born October 12, 1917 to William and Estella Greer in Sunnyside, WA.

She grew up in Sunnyside and graduated from Sunnyside High School.

She graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago then attended business college in Seattle.

After World War II, she worked as a secretary for the Civil Aeronautics Administration.

While working in Seattle, she met Ralph Mincks and they married on September 2, 1947.

They moved to Spokane, where they raised six children.

Grace was a member of the Park Heights Baptist Church and a member of First Covenant Church.

She was active in church, schools, and had many friends in the community.

Grace loved to crochet, gifting many with afghans.

She was a good prolific painter, and personally painted thousands of greeting cards for friends and family.

Her beloved husband, Ralph, preceded her in passing in 2000, as did son, Joseph in 1990 and daughter, Susan in 1971.

Her parents, brothers, and sisters are now seeing her in heaven.

She is survived by two sons, William (Rena), Pullman, and Robert (Jennifer) and two daughters, Laura and Ruth, all in Spokane.

Four grandchildren, Toby, Nora, Rebekah, Nicholas; three great-grand-children, Chloe, Alekzander and Xavier.

Thank you to the caregivers, especially Jacquelyn, the nursing staff of 8th floor West Tower.

We will miss her love and constant Christian encouragement.

She is now at peace with her heavenly father.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 2:30 pm, at Heritage, 508 N. Government Way, Spokane, WA.
