Chinese Lantern Festival stops selling daytime tickets
The Chinese Lantern Festival will no longer be selling daytime tickets to the event in Riverfront Park on weekends.
The festival, which opened Saturday, was offering cheaper tickets for daytime entrance to the event that showcases 31 Chinese lantern displays. But attendance the first weekend showed that people prefer to come at night, said Lantern Festival committee chair Sam Song in a press release.
Anyone who purchased daytime tickets can get a refund or a free upgrade to a night ticket. People can simply show their daytime ticket at the entrance to get in.
The event runs through Nov. 1. Hours are from 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5 to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $17 for adults and $12 for children ages 2-12; children age 2 and under are free. They are available through www.ticketswest.com.
