Man injured in rollover wreck on SR-195 Friday
A man was taken to the hospital by helicopter after a rollover crash 15 miles north of Colfax just before noon Friday.
Three young men were northbound on state Highway 195 when the driver tried to pass two northbound vehicles, according to the Washington State Patrol. The Chevrolet Trailblazer swerved back into the lane and the driver lost control, with the SUV rolling off the southbound side of the road.
The driver, John D. McConnell, 22, was not injured, nor was passenger Chance I. Haskins, 26, the WSP said. Both were wearing seat belts. Passenger Brandon Abraham, 27, who was not wearing a seat belt, was injured and transported to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. As of Friday night his condition was listed as satisfactory.
WSP said the accident was caused by unsafe passing and negligent driving. Drugs and alcohol were not a factor, the news release said.
