LUCK,
Henry F. S.
(Age 79)
Henry F. S. Luck passed peacefully holding his wife, Ann’s, hand on December 29, 2015 at The Brookdale on Regal.
Known to all as “Shel”, he is survived by his former wife of 20 years, Louise Rabel, the mother of their children: Lori of Phoenix and Sheldon (Laura) and his three special grandchildren Samantha, Taylor and Andrew all of Spokane Valley; his sister Donna Kaiser (Ron) of Kelowna, B. C. and brother Gordon (Sharon) of Phoenix.
He was preceded in death by his grandson Brenton Burkhart and niece Mandi Luck.
Shel was lucky enough to find a career he just loved, flying.
He joined the RCAF when he was just 18 and served for nine years.
United Airlines came to Canada desperately looking for pilots and SheI was issused his green card and brought his wife and kids with him to Chicago.
He was a proud American after that and loved becoming an American citizen.
He met his flight attendant wife, Ann, and it was true love at first sight.
They would have celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary on January 1, 2016.
His family owes a great deal of gratitude to Sacred Heart, Valley Medical Center, Dr. Salil Manek, his Parkinson Physician, Dr. Kelly Nelson his PCP, Sullivan Park, The Gardens, Good Samaritan and Brookdale on Regal and, of course, all the loving and caring aides that helped him so much, also, thanks to Rockwood Home Health, especially Miriam, Ulysses and Kambrie.
The last few months of his time was spent with Hospice of Spokane and his nurse, Medina, who was a comfort to him and a joy to his wife, Ann, when she needed a friend and to Chaplain Cheryl when he needed guidance and prayer for his journey.
Cremation followed and he is once again home with Ann in Liberty Lake.
God is now his co-pilot.
