MORROW, Gail (Shardlow)
(Age 80)
Gail (Shardlow) Morrow passed away peacefully on March 30, 2016.
She was born on January 11, 1936 to Fred and Essie Shardlow, proprietors of Vera Gardens in the Spokane Valley.
Gail graduated from Central Valley High School in 1953 before attending Washington State College, where she became a spirited and lifelong Cougar fan.
In the Spring of 1960 Gail met John Morrow and they were married that November at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist.
She brought three sons into the world over the next six years and became a very active and involved parent.
Gail was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished time spent laughing with her family.
Gail worked as the Office Manager at Spokane Valley Dental for 22 years where she enjoyed socializing with patients and coworkers.
Gail was passionate about entertaining and cooking for friends.
She was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed playing with the same group of close friends for nearly 60 years.
Though she cared for all animals, Gail particularly loved dogs and spent many hours studying the different breeds and plotting her next pet adoption.
She was a devoted sports fan, always loyal to her favorite football, basketball, golf, and tennis athletes.
Gail is survived by her husband of 55 years, John, her sons Mike, Jim and Tom, daughter-in-law Margaret, grandchildren; Katie, Jack and Hannah, sister Madge Watson and brother David (Sandra) Shardlow.
A memorial gathering will be held in the coming weeks to celebrate Gail’s life and multitude of dear friends.
In lieu of gifts the family encourages donations in Gail’s name be made to either the Spokane Humane Society or SCRAPS.
