(Age 82)

Eleanor went home to be with the Lord on November 19, 2015.

Born February 25, 1933, to Clifford and Olga Ellis in Great Falls, MT, where she was the second of two children.

Her father, a cattle rancher, owned the Dearborn Ranch west of Great Falls.

The family spent summers at the ranch and winters in Great Falls.

After graduating from Gt.

Falls High, Eleanor spent one year at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

Her sophomore year was spent at Montana State University, where she met her husband, Vernon F. Laubach, in 1953 and married on September 9, 1953.

Eleanor was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker.

Eleanor and Vernon raised their children, Sheryl, Karlyn, and Dale, in Gt.

Falls until 1967, when they moved to Spokane, WA.

She took an active part in their education in Montana, while at the same time being in the Jr. League and playing the organ and singing in the choir at First Presbyterian Church.

When the family moved to Spokane, Eleanor played organ part-time at Park Heights Baptist Church, but she was a member and Elder at Manito Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir.

Eleanor had an angel’s voice, performing many solos for church and other organizations.

She was on the Board of Directors at Morning Star Boys Ranch.

Eleanor also took an active part in the Spokane Jr. League as Co-chair of the Jr. League Rummage Sale and Co-chaperone for the Lilac Princesses for two years.

Eleanor served as President of the Spokane AOII Alumni Association.

After her children were grown, Eleanor served as Elder of Manito Presbyterian.

She also worked as Secretary for the Spokane Chamber of Commerce, the Scottish Rite Organization, and the Spokane Teacher’s Credit Union where she held the position of Administrative Assistant.

Eleanor retired in 1996.

Eleanor enjoyed being part of a loving group called The Knitwits, with women who had a common interest in knitting or crocheting.

Eleanor’s hobbies included sewing clothes for her daughters, needlework, embroidery, and crocheting.

She loved reading, baking, playing piano and organ, creative writing, singing, golfing and traveling.

Eleanor was preceded in death by daughter Sheryl E. L. Peterson (Norris); Survived by Husband Vernon F. Laubach; brother Donald C. Ellis; daughter Karlyn Allen (Dave); son Dale C. Laubach; grand- children Kevin and Kelsey Peterson, Katherine Allen, Sheryl Laubach, Jessica Norton, and great-granddaughter Kimberly Cox.

The memorial service will be held on April 16, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church, 4102 South Crestline, Spokane, WA.
