John, Jr.
Passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 5, 2016.
John was born in Spokane to the late Clem J. and Martha Egbers Pederson, August 3, 1946, and raised in both Coeur d’Alene and Orofino, Idaho.
He attended the University of Idaho, earning a BA and Masters in Business Administration and later a Masters of International Management at Thunderbird School of Global Management.
At the U of I he was a founding member and president of the Zeta Mu Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
After college, he served our country as an U.S. Air Force Officer and pilot.
He worked in marketing for Gulfstream in Savannah, Georgia, and he held positions as President of BBB offices in Waco TX and Springfield/Worcester MA.
John retired from the Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce (GSVCC) in 2012.
He was the founder and president of Ethics Talks LLC.
John was an active member of Rotary International for over 27 years and has held numerous positions on nonprofit boards and business advisory councils.
He recently completed two terms on the U of I Alumni Association National Board of Directors.
John is survived by his wife Sherill of Spokane; sister Carol Pederson (Richard) Ogle of Houston, TX; nephew Scott (Jessica) and Keri Ogle of Pflugerville, TX; and niece Brenda Ogle of Houston, TX ; and many beloved cousins.
He is also survived by stepchildren Annika (Paul) Craig, Robert (Londa) Brumpton, and Richard (Bonnie) Brumpton Jr. and their families.
He will be missed by former stepchildren Carrie, Trina, and Lisa.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at His Place Church, 3079 East 16th Avenue, Post Falls, Idaho 83854.
Memorial contributions may be made in John’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
