Student accused of threats involving school prom
ALEXANDRIA, La. – A Louisiana high school student is facing three charges, including terrorizing, following an investigation of threats made on social media about a potential incident at the school prom.
The Town Talk reported that the 17-year-old, who lives in Alexandria, was arrested by Rapides Parish sheriff’s detectives over the weekend on one count each of terrorizing, stalking and obstruction of justice.
Alexandria Senior High’s prom was Saturday night.
Detectives were able to trace a user of a fake Internet social media profile.
Sheriff William Earl Hilton did not release the nature of the threats.
The teen was being held in the Rapides Parish Detention Center on $21,000 bond. Online jail records do not list an attorney for the teen.
