Pocatello’s FBI data center to expand, add jobs

POCATELLO – Pocatello Mayor Brian Blad said the FBI is expanding its data center facility, bringing 300 new jobs to southeastern Idaho.

The Idaho State Journal reported that Blad announced Thursday the renovation project is expected to help Pocatello’s economy. Construction is expected to begin next spring.

The average estimated wage is about $60,000 a year.

The FBI has already added 100 new jobs in Pocatello in anticipation of the expansion.

The Pocatello FBI center provides telecommunications and database support for agency field services throughout the country. The center first opened in Idaho in 1985.

The FBI operates information technology centers in Pocatello, and Fort Monmouth, New Jersey.
