Rollover crash injures two in Spokane Valley

From staff reports

Authorities say excessive speed is to blame for a rollover crash that injured two people Tuesday evening in Spokane Valley.

McKenna L. Sides, 21, and Shane M. Parks, 26, both of Spokane, were taken to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center after their SUV drifted off Trent Avenue east of Millwood, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Troopers reported they were traveling east, with Sides behind the wheel, when the SUV drifted to the right, struck a light pole and rolled. Both passengers were wearing seatbelts, and drugs or alcohol didn’t appear to be a factor, the WSP said.

A news release indicated Sides will face charges after being released from Sacred Heart, where she was listed in satisfactory condition Wednesday morning. A hospital spokeswoman said Parks’ condition was unavailable.
