Obituary: Cava, Dennis Lee
CAVA,
Dennis Lee
1944 - 2015
Ask Dennis when the last time, if ever, he cooked a meal for himself or what type of washing machine he had, and he wouldn’t have a clue to the answer.
However, if you asked him where he was on October 5th, 1984 (or any other date for that matter) he could tell you to a tee!!
The man had a mind like no other!
He was book smart in a way that most people can’t comprehend.
He was an accomplished Appellate Lawyer for the State of California for forty years, but that isn’t what he would want you or anyone to know about him.
His work was always second.
He lived life in the only way he knew how…..in the moment.
He was a sports encyclopedia and loved sharing his knowledge and talking about it with Dad while eating cream shrimp on toast made by Mom!
He loved baseball and college football and bled U of W purple until the end!
From attending the garlic festival and eating garlic infused ice cream (and liking it) to collecting Coca Cola memorabilia because he thought it was cool, or locking himself in his house for several months to master the game of Pac-Man.
He never did anything he didn’t want to unless he wanted to do it.
He toured the country following his beloved Huskies from stadium to stadium for several years and even when he stopped he never missed a game.
He couldn’t carry a tune or dance to save his life, but oh how we looked forward to those birthday songs every year!
He had more passion than anyone I have ever met in my life.
He is with Mom and Dad now and probably talking Dads ear off while Mom sits in the corner shaking her head and laughing at the two of them.
You will be missed and those who knew you are better off for having had the chance.
We love you Dennis, until we see you again….RIP.
At his request there will be no service.
Any contributions can be made in his name to the Humane Society.
