PETERS, Dennis J.
(Age 59)

Passed away peacefully on February 4, 2016 in Cheney, Washington after a long battle with diabetes and kidney disease.

He was born in Spokane on December 29, 1956 to John and Gertrude Peters and was the youngest of five children.

Dennis was a graduate of Rosalia High School, class of 1975.

After graduation he worked for Rosalia Producers for a time and then went to work for the City of Rosalia.

First as a Maintenance Man and later as Chief of Police.

Dennis had two sons, Joshua and Jeremy from a previous marriage.

Dennis married Cheryl Lowe in 1996 and added a stepson, Vaughn Lowe to his family.

Dennis and Cheryl owned and operated the Hangman Creek Bar & Grill in Waverly, WA from 1997 to 2007.

Dennis loved to cook.

His other passions were hunting and fishing with his wife, sons and friends, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Dennis is survived by his wife Cheryl, stepson Vaughn (Jill), grandchildren, William, C’aira, Julian, Josalyn, Kennedy, Parker and River.

Brother Daryl and sisters Kathleen, Marlene (Joe), Sheryl (Sam).

Numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sons Joshua and Jeremy, stepmother Wilma and his cousin Bruce Shindler.


A celebration of Dennis’ life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, at Cheney Funeral Chapel, 1632 W. 1st St., Cheney, WA.
