Obituary: Wigen, Berniece (Lashaw)

Age 89


WIGEN, Berniece (LaShaw)

Surrounded by family, Berniece passed away peacefully February 8th, 2016.

She was born in Rockford, WA to Carl and Clara LaShaw on March 11, 1926, where she attended the Rockford High School.

She then later met Kenneth Wigen in Rockford and they were married June 5, 1945.

They lived in the Rockford area while Kenneth worked the family farm.

She helped on the farm and was also a homemaker while raising their boys Keith and Kevin.



She volunteered at Fairfield Good Samaritan Center doing the crafts department which she really enjoyed.

She was very involved with St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rockford, the Rockford Fair, working in their flower department and she was part of the Mica Peak Garden Club.

She loved canning and tending to her flowers but most of all she loved her family and they were her everything.

Berniece is survived by her husband Kenneth; sons Keith (Linda) and Kevin (Rene); and grandchildren, William (Jen), David (Kelly), Andrew (Luan) and Jeffrey; as well as nine great-grand kids and numerous nieces and nephews.



Visitation will be Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Thornhill Valley Funeral Chapel 2:00 - 5:00 PM.

There will be a Funeral Mass Friday, February 12 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rockford, WA at 10:00 AM.



Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rockford, WA or the Fairview Cemetery in Rockford, WA.
