Man arrested after shots fired at occupied RV

Spokane County deputies arrested a man Thursday afternoon for allegedly firing several gunshots at an occupied motor home and then breaking inside.

They found the suspect inside the motor home fighting with the owner, who had called for help along the 200 block of East Justine Lane off U.S. Highway 195, said Deputy Mark Gregory. No one was injured.

Jack Stone said he owns the property where the incident took place and the man inside the motor home was his 73-year-old father.

“Apparently Dad got ahold of him and wrestled him to the ground,” Stone said. “It kind of sucks that he shot up Dad’s RV.”

Stone identified the shooter as his half-brother, who is not related to Stone’s father. All of them live in different homes on the same property, he said.

Stone said he believes the suspect, who is a convicted felon, stole the guns. He did not know what prompted the attack.

“I just don’t understand his thinking,” he said.

Gregory said charges will be filed against the suspect, who deputies were still working to definitively identify Thursday. “He is not cooperating with us,” Gregory said.
