Francis (Frank) Junior Merritt, passed away Tuesday February 9, 2016 at his home in Newport, WA.
He was born on April 18, 1927 to Anna (Wilson) and Frank L. Merritt in Alliance, Nebraska.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gold prospecting and music.
He served in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean War, he loved his country.
Frank graduated from The University of Wyoming with an engineering degree and was employed by the Wyoming State Highway Department.
He went on to work for The National Forest Service in Montana and Oregon, where he retired.
Frank is survived by his children: Dennis Merritt, Denise Layfield, Darin Stordahl; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents: Anna and Frank Merritt; brothers: Merrill, Wendell, Elliott, Charles and sister-in-law Mary.
Cremation was chosen and a private family interment will be at a later date.
