Duane Ray, born Dayton, OH 9/11/1927 and passed 26/2016 in Spokane Valley, WA.
Duane, or as some would call him “Ray”, will be remembered as a passionate man who would help anyone in need.
He was stationed at Fairchild AFB and Elmen- dorff AFB from ‘45-48.
Sergeant and crew chief on B-29’s.
After being stationed at Fairchild, he fell in love with the area and decided this is where he wanted to stay.
He managed the Skagg’s Automotive Store at Sprague and Napa until retirement and was famous for his custom mixed paints.
Member and past superintendent of the Inland Gas & Steam Buff Club and an avid Allis Chalmers man.
He enjoyed his family and helping with projects around the home place.
He is survived by his wife, Helen, daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Jerry Smith, niece Julie Giakovmis and a number of much loved nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses who cared for Duane in the final weeks from Gentiva Hospice, Cathy C, Kathy M., Marla, Karin, Kris, Pat and Maria.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Gentiva Hospice, 22820 E. Appleway Ave., Liberty Lake, WA 99019.
