Four Corners: Home finale for Cougars

Add Spokesman-Review on Google

Coming up: Thursday vs. Stanford, 7 p.m. (Pac-12); Sunday vs. California, 5:30 p.m. (ESPNU)

Outlook: Washington State enters the week having lost 11 games and about to play its final two games of the regular season. Because these are WSU’s last two games in Beasley Coliseum until next year, and because neither California nor Stanford have been especially impressive, the upcoming contests against the Golden Bears and Cardinal are clearly WSU’s best opportunities to pick up a win or two before the offseason. The Cougars are favored for the first time in months in Thursday’s matchup against the Cardinal, with KenPom.com giving the Cougars a 51 percent chance to win. KenPom also gives WSU a 26 percent chance to beat the young and talented Golden Bears, but no better than a 15 percent chance to win any other individual remaining game.

WSU leaders:

Scoring: Josh Hawkinson 15.4 ppg

Rebounding: Josh Hawkinson 11.0 rbg

Assists: Ike Iroegbu 3.6 apg
