Frederick “Ricky” Mark Schuchart, of Spokane, WA, died at 10:05 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016, at his home surrounded
by family.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
Fred was born September 24, 1945, in San Francisco, California, the son of Frederick and Florence Rodgers Schuchart.
He was raised and educated in Spokane, Washington where he met the love of his life Katherine “Katie” Murray.
They were married on August 28, 1970 and spent 45 years together before his death.
They had two children together, a daughter Marisa and a son Chris.
He graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1963, he then went on to graduate from Washington State University School of Pharmacy in 1968, and Gonzaga Law School in 1974.
Fred was a practicing pharmacist and attorney in Spokane, Washington for many years.
He worked at Fred Meyer Pharmacy for 45 years starting at the old store on Sprague, then worked at the Sullivan, Francis and Thor store.
He also worked as an attorney in private practice doing family law at the Northtown Office Building.
Fred was an avid golfer and a member of “Hal’s Hackers”.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren, grabbing a beer with friends, supporting friends during difficult times and being with his family.
He liked spicy food, eating out, candy, reading, cooking, rebuilding/working on his computer and spending time in his yard.
Surviving is his wife, Katherine of Spokane, Washington; a daughter, Marisa (Brian Kemmer) Schuchart of Spokane, Washington; a son, Chris (Mandy) Schuchart of Sammamish, Washington; five grandchildren, Ethan Kemmer, Brendan Kemmer, Sienna Kemmer of Spokane, Washington, Melina Schuchart and Miller Schuchart of Sammamish, Washington; two brothers, Dick (Carol) Schuchart of Spokane, Washington, and Larry Schuchart of Spokane, Washington; a brother-in-law James Hagerty of Oneida, Illinois; three nieces, Hope (Ken) Lock of Fairview, Illinois, Allison Schuchart of Cuero, Texas, Kristin (Kris) Henderson of University Place, Washington; two nephews Joseph (Laura) Hagerty of Dixon, California, Jimmy Schuchart of Spokane, Washington; and numerous cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Joyce Hagerty.
A Memorial Service and potluck will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Moran Prairie Grange, 6106 S. Palouse Highway, Spokane, Washington 99223.
