HERRINGTON, Donnalee Rae
(Age 87)
Donnalee Rae (Flansburg) Herrington passed into glory and the arms of Jesus, February 12th, 2016.
Donnalee was born to Ward Clarence and Mina Violet (Kaler) Flansburg May 11th, 1928 in Staples, Minnesota.
Donnalee was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Paul W. Herrington, brothers Alan Williams and Richard Willman, sisters-in-law Bernice Frymoyer and Madeline Moughler, brothers-in-law Phil Herrington and Cliff Herrington.
Donnalee leaves behind her children: Bill Herrington and wife Karen, Paul “Mike” Herrington and wife Sharon, Pat Herrington and wife Kristi, Marc Herrington and wife Irene, Karan (Herrington) Cummings and husband Cary, 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
There are numerous nieces and nephews Donnalee loved with all her heart that will miss her also.
Donnalee has a sister-in-law Evonne Herrington that resides in Spokane Valley and a brother-in-law Ansel Moughler that resides in Ottumwa, Iowa.
In her early years as a child, she grew up on a farm living with her mother and grandparents.
Donnalee was the eldest of six siblings.
When she was twelve, her mother gave birth to her half-brother Alan Williams.
When her mother married again, Donnalee gained a stepbrother, David Willman and two stepsisters, Pat (Willman) Tholberg and Jean (Willman) Grein.
Her mother later in years gave birth to another half-brother, Richard Willman.
Donnalee moved with her mother and brother Alan to Spokane, WA around 1942.
She got a job downtown Spokane delivering telegrams on her bicycle when she was 14 years old then started working at the Geiger Field PX which would begin her career as a grocery clerk for Low Cost then Safeway.
Donnalee married Paul Herrington after knowing him sixteen days on June 26th, 1946.
Paul was fighting in WWII and stationed in North Carolina where they had their first child, William “Bill” Herrington.
After getting discharged from the Army, Paul and Donnalee moved back to Spokane, WA where they continued growing and raising their family.
Donnalee fought the good fight and now is at peace celebrating eternal life with her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, February 27th 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 6528 N. Monroe, Spokane, WA 99208 where Paul and Donnalee were members.
