Glacier’s 2015 visitation breaks record

Associated Press

WEST GLACIER, Mont. – Glacier National Park has set a record for the second straight year with more than 2.3 million visitors in 2015.

The Missoulian reports that the park ranks 10th among the country’s national parks for most visitors last year. The figures released by the National Park Service show that Glacier came behind Yellowstone National Park, which took fifth place and also set a new record in 2015 by surpassing more than 4 million visitors.

Glacier’s record coincides with it welcoming its 100 millionth visitor last year in the park’s 105-year history.

The National Park Service reported 307 million visits to its sites across the country last year, a nearly 5 percent increase from 2014.
