Albert L. Merendino.
Passed away on February 20, 2016 at Hospice of Spokane surrounded by his family.
Born July 25, 1931 in Denver, Colorado, to Louise and Frank Merendino.
After being raised in Chicago, he moved to Cheyenne, WY.
Al served in the United States Marine Corp. and saw com- bat in Korea.
Upon his return, he met and married the love of his life, Jan (Byrnes) Merendino on August 16, 1954.
They had two children, Frank and Merry.
They raised their family in Rawlins, WY where Al and Jan owned and operated Al’s Liquor Store.
Later, Al worked for McGee Murphy Ford until his retirement.
Al and Jan moved to Denver in 1990 where they lived until April 2015, when they moved to the Spokane area to be closer to family.
Al passed away on February 20, 2016 after a long illness.
Al is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jan; daughter Merry (Wayne) of Deer Park; daughter-in-law Ann Merendino; two granddaughters, Teresa (Josh) Chrisman of Davenport and Katie (Justin) Louie, Nine Mile Falls; and three great-grandsons, Riley, Jayce and Jackson Chrisman.
He is preceded in death by his parents and son Frank.
Cremation will be provided through Spokane Cremation.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Thursday February 25th at 10Am at St. Thomas More.
