Christopher Scott
Chris passed away peacefully on February 19th, 2016 at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, WA.
He was surrounded by his wife, immediate family members, best friend, and his loving pup.
Chris was born on July 12th, 1984 to parents Rick and Vicky Zener in Renton, WA.
Chris grew up in Federal Way, WA and attended St. Vincent’s elementary and Kennedy High Schools.
In 2005 Chris and Elena moved to Spokane, WA to start a new life together.
Chris worked for Cobra BEC as a lead craftsman and loved his job.
Some of his favorite projects include Ferris HS, the Kibbie Dome, and WSU Wine Science buildings.
In 2008 Chris became a father to his sweetie, Kaila Sienna.
The two were inseparable, and enjoyed playing at the park and baking cookies together.
Chris loved being a father and never wanted to leave his sweetie behind.
In 2013, after 10 years of dating, Chris and Elena finally decided to tie the knot.
This was their happily ever after.
Chris loved his family and friends more than anything.
He always put others before himself.
When he was a kid he would go to the movies with his cousins and always spent his money on candy for everyone to enjoy.
Chris loved the outdoors, he especially loved boating with friends, nature walks with his pup, and camping.
In 2014 Chris was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma and battled his cancer for 466 days.
Chris fought hard for his family until the very end, he even choose to continue with antibiotics in hopes of more time and to make it home to Spokane.
Chris is survived by his wife Elena; daughter Kaila; parents Rick and Vicky Zener; brother Jeremy (Brynn); and many other family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, February 26, 2016 from 2-6:30pm at St. Joseph Cemetery and Funeral Center Chapel, 17825 E. Trent, Spokane Valley, WA.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 27th, 2016 at 11am St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 304 S. Adams, Spokane Valley, WA.
We encourage everyone to wear bright colors as Chris was always a ray of sunshine.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christopher Zener benefit fund at Spokane Teachers Credit Union acct #367298.
Funds will be used for his daughter’s education.
CSZ you will be missed, and in our hearts forever.
