Boys basketball roundup: Lancers top Broncos, stay undefeated
Chase Burnham had 23 points and five rebounds as Liberty stay undefeated and took over first place in the Northeast 2B League South division with a 56-43 win over Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Saturday at Liberty.
The Lancers trailed by two at halftime but gained control with an 18-8 third-quarter run.
Tyler Haas made 7 of 8 free throws and added 14 points for Liberty (10-0, 4-0), which forced 18 turnovers.
Jacob Saetre led LRS (5-4, 4-1) with 17 points and Wyatt Roettger chipped in 10.
The teams meet again Jan. 29 in Ritzville.
Colfax 59, Tekoa-Rosalia 29: Danny Robinson made six 3-pointers and scored 18 points as the Bulldogs (6-4, 1-3) took control from the get-go in a win over the visiting Timberwolves (1-9, 0-5). Kenton Lyman added 13 points for Colfax, which led 32-12 at the half.

Davenport 46, Reardan 24: Tanner Smith and Peyton VanPevenage combined for 21 points as the Gorillas (5-5, 3-3) opened the game on a 13-4 run and eased past the host Indians (1-7, 1-2). Reardan’s Wyatt Thurman led all scorers with 15 points.
Northeast 1B North
Curlew 64, Cusick 60: Daniel Tresham scored 17 points, James Reynolds had 16 and Gunner Brown added 13 as the Cougars (7-2, 4-2) withstood the Panthers’ second-half charge in a win in Cusick. Spirit White led the Panthers (2-6, 2-3) with 25 points and Joe Cutshall added 11 points and nine rebounds.

Coeur d’Alene 59, Centennial 57: Sam Matheson scored the go-ahead bucket with 20 seconds left and the Vikings (8-1) edged the Patriots in Boise. Centennial’s Talon Pinckney had a shot at the buzzer, but it was off the mark. Brody Lundblad hit three 3-pointers and scored 22 points and Matheson finished with 12 points for the Vikings.
St. George’s 62, Colville 39: The Dragons (7-4) pulled down 27 offensive rebounds and eased past the visiting Indians (2-5). St. George’s was led by Collin Cremers’ 14 points and 14 rebounds and Liam Sienko and Isaac Werkman added 12 points and 12 rebounds apiece. Erik Farias chipped in 14 points, five rebounds and five assists for the Dragons, who outscored Colville 25-5 in the second quarter, erasing a six-point first-quarter deficit. Travis Romane led Colville with 11 points.
Medical Lake 74, Omak 45: Cole Soliday made 5 of 6 3-pointers and finished with 17 points and eight rebounds as the Cardinals (5-2) dumped the visiting Pioneers. Jaelon Stith added 15 points and 12 rebounds and Cory Wagner chipped in 15 points and six steals for Medical Lake. Jacob Peterson led Omak with 10 points.
St. Maries 62, Priest River 43: Kiefer Gibson had 18 points and nine rebounds and Jake Sieler added 12 points and seven steals as the Lumberjacks (7-1) topped the visiting Spartans (3-4). Drake Lounsbury added 10 points and seven steals for St. Maries, which built a 36-19 halftime lead. Tommy Anselmo led Priest River with 13 points.
Selkirk 61, Clark Fork 37: Bryce Seaney scored 17 points and Cole Dawson added 15 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Rangers (8-2) past the host Wampus Cats. Dylan Roper led Clark Fork with 13 points.
