Stove, cabinets stolen from foreclosed home

Liberty Lake police were kept busy with several unexpected calls in the two weeks from Dec. 14 to Jan. 4.

A burglary was reported at a home that had recently been foreclosed on in the 1400 block of North Aladdin Road on Dec. 16. Someone broke in and took a pellet stove, decorative mirrors, bathroom cabinets and other items. The value of the items stolen topped $1,600.

A suspicious vehicle call at 10 p.m. in the 5100 block of North Moore Road on Dec. 22 turned out to be someone who turned down a long driveway because it was “pretty” and got stuck in the snow.

Police are investigating a burglary in the 19000 block of East Nora Avenue on Dec. 30. Someone stole five guns and weddings rings and police believe it was someone familiar with the home, said Police Chief Brian Asmus.

“Whoever was responsible went right to where the firearms were,” he said.

The suspects also used a snow shovel to remove their footprints in the snow leading to and from the home.
