Boys basketball roundup: Medical Lake’s Wagner dumps 41 on Riverside
Medical Lake’s Cory Wagner got out to a sizzling start in the Cardinals’ 85-33 Northeast A League win over visiting Riverside on Saturday night.
Wagner, a senior, scored 25 first-quarter points and finished with 41. He made 8 of 14 3-pointers and helped Medical Lake build a 37-10 first-quarter lead.
Jaelon Stith added 17 points and 13 rebounds and Cole Soliday chipped in nine points a 11 boards for the Cardinals (8-4, 5-2), who opened the game on a 21-0 run.
Jacob Harris scored 13 for Riverside (1-11, 0-7).
Inland Empire 4A
Sandpoint 48, Moscow 43: Davan Norris made 10 of 12 free throws and scored 35 points to help lead the Bulldogs (4-9, 1-1) past the host Bears (0-8, 0-2). Sandpoint trailed by four at the half but outscored Moscow 13-4 in the third quarter. Moscow’s Matt Dowdell made three 3-pointers and scored 14 points.
Great Northern
Clarkston 64, West Valley 53: Trevon Allen scored 27 points and Jake Albright added 17 as the Bantams (13-0, 5-0) topped the visiting Eagles (8-5, 2-3). West Valley’s Brennan Folkins scored 17.
East Valley 55, Cheney 45: Eli Holecek had 18 points and six rebounds and Tanner Jacobs added 13 points and eight boards as the Knights (8-6, 3-3) pulled away in the fourth and beat the visiting Blackhawks (4-8, 0-6). Cheney tied the game at 41 in the fourth, but East Valley made 11 of 15 free throws and pulled away with a 14-4 run. Cheney’s Riley Jones had 16 points and eight rebounds.

Kellogg 71, Bonners Ferry 42: Ryan Martin, Chase Jerome and Tobias Colburn scored 12 points apiece and the Wildcats (8-2, 2-0) forced 24 turnovers in a win over the host Badgers. Bonners Ferry’s Caleb Harrington scored 12.
Priest River 59, Timberlake 51: Hunter Hartwig scored 19 points, Zach Huddleston added 11 and Alex Simpkins pulled down 10 rebounds as the Spartans (5-5, 1-1) edged the visiting Tigers (2-7, 0-1). Timberlake’s Jestin Hofer scored 17 and Daniel Smith added 10.
Northeast 2B
Colfax 62, Kettle Falls 42: Danny Robinson scored nine of his game-high 20 points in the decisive third quarter to power Colfax (10-5, 5-4) past visiting Kettle Falls (4-10, 3-7). Kenton Lyman added 12 points and 10 rebounds for Colfax, which outscored Kettle Falls 20-9 in the third. Kettle Falls’ Daniel Truque and Jake Kenney combined for 21.
St. George’s 61, Wilbur-Creston 39: Collin Cremers had 16 points, six rebounds and four steals and Erik Farias added 10 points and 10 assists as the Dragons (10-5, 5-3) opened the game on a 14-3 run and eased past the visiting Wildcats (4-8, 2-7). Zac Steele and Mitchell Ward added 12 apiece for St. George’s. Wilbur-Creston’s Dorian Jaeger scored nine.
Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 64, Reardan 33: Wyatt Roettger had 25 points and 10 rebounds and Jacob Saetre added 15 points and seven assists as the Broncos (9-5, 7-2) routed the Indians (2-12, 1-8) in Ritzville. Reardan’s Jordan Rohweder made four 3-pointers and scored 15 points.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 58, Republic 24: Dallas Isaak led three players in double figures with 14 points and the Warriors (13-0, 9-0) dumped the Tigers (12-3, 8-2) in Coulee City. Dawson Dormaier added 11 points and Logan Bohnet chipped in 10 for ACH, which put the game out of reach with a 20-3 second-quarter run. Republic’s Jordan Gatenby scored seven.
Wellpinit 91, Northport 41: Shaylon Tonasket scored 15 points and Monty Tonasket and Jason Holt added 14 apiece as the Redskins (10-3, 6-2) forced 21 turnovers in an easy win over the visiting Mustangs (0-11, 0-8). Alfonso Salinas and Xavier Brown added a combined 22 points for Wellpinit, which went ahead 31-6 in the first quarter. Northport’s Aiden Middlesworth scored 15.

Garfield-Palouse 64, Oakesdale 40: Matt Holbrook made 15 of 30 shots and 11 of 16 free throws and finished with 45 points and seven rebounds in the Vikings’ win over the host Nighthawks (3-11, 1-7). Garfield-Palouse (10-2, 5-1) opened the game on a 19-5 run. Oakesdale’s Parker Perry scored 16.
Liberty Christian 55, Pomeroy 51: Chris Kelly scored 19 points and Cameron Godwin added 18 as the Patriots (9-2, 6-0) clipped the Pirates (8-6, 4-3) in Richland. Ryan Wolf made five 3-pointers and scored 19 points for Pomeroy.

St. Maries 55, Grangeville 45: Jake Sieler scored 15 points and the Lumberjacks (11-1, 3-0) built a 12-point halftime lead in a win over the host Bulldogs. Grangeville’s Dillon Alder scored 19.
Orofino 66, Coeur d’Alene Charter 36: Hayden Wilson made three 3-pointers and all four of his free throws and scored 23 points to guide the Maniacs past the host Panthers. Orofino trailed 14-9 after the first quarter, but outscored Coeur d’Alene Charter 23-5 in the second. The Panthers’ Jeffrey Kersh scored 12.

Northwest Christian 60, Genesis Prep 47: Ryan Ricks scored 17 points, Asher Cox had 16 and David Olds chipped in 11 as the Crusaders (12-2) beat the visiting Jaguars.
