One person died in a shooting at 2 a.m. Monday near The Palomino concert venue in north Spokane.

The Spokane Police Department did not release the victim’s name or any other information about the shooting.

Suspects remained at large Monday afternoon when The Palomino posted this statement on its Facebook page: “Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the young man who lost his life next door to our venue after we closed early this morning. We are devastated by this tragedy.”

Wendy Jordan, general manager of The Palomino, said the venue was rented by a promoter for an “All Black Everything” party.

“It was a Martin Luther King honorary party that we’ve had every year since 2008 without any incidents,” Jordan said. “We didn’t have any problems inside the venue leading up to the shooting.”

Jordan said The Palomino, 6425 N. Lidgerwood St., had just closed and ushered nearly 500 guests outside when the shooting happened.
