Pickup truck driver dies in west Spokane County crash

One person died early Sunday morning in a pickup truck crash in the area of South Betz and South Granite Lake roads in west Spokane County.

Spokane County Sheriff’s deputies responded at 3:20 a.m. and found the adult driver and sole occupant dead.

The sheriff’s traffic collision technicians believe the southbound vehicle traveled off Granite Lake Road at a corner, north of Betz, and the driver lost control. The truck rolled and the driver, who appears was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Investigators believe speed may have been a factor in the crash.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the victim.
