Chiefs sign forward, 2014 draft pick Logan Foster

The Spokane Chiefs announced Thursday that 1999-born forward Logan Foster signed a standard player agreement and committed to playing in the Western Hockey League.

Foster was the Chiefs’ seventh-round (146th overall) selection in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.

“We are thrilled to add another valuable player to our organization in Logan Foster,” Chiefs general manager Tim Speltz said. “Logan has continued to develop as we hoped he would when we drafted him in 2014. He has earned an opportunity to compete for a spot on this year’s roster and we are excited to have him.”

Last season, with the Tisdale Trojans of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League, Foster scored 12 goals and added 17 assists for 29 points in 42 games. He also scored three goals and had three assists in six playoff games.

The 5-foot-10, 170-pound forward from Kamsack, Saskatchewan, also competed for his province at the 2015 Canada Winter Games, pitching in two assists in seven games.
