New credit union robbed

Police are searching for a man who robbed a bank inside the Safeway store at Mission Avenue and Hamilton Street just before noon Friday.

Employees at the Alaska USA Credit Union said a man demanded money from a teller and ran north on foot after receiving cash. The credit union only recently opened for business.
