Pullman dentist’s license suspended after fraud conviction

A Pullman dentist’s license was suspended by the Washington Dental Quality Assurance Commission in April after he was convicted of fraud in Idaho last year.

Dr. Alfred Fairbanks was convicted of four felony counts of fraud for submitting claims to Medicaid for dental work he didn’t perform. The false claims were filed between January 2009 and May 2010, according to the Idaho Attorney General’s office.

Fairbanks was ordered to serve 90 days in the Latah County jail and pay $100,000 in fines.

He may petition the Washington Dental Quality Assurance Commission to reinstate his license.
