Annual Summer Parkways is Tuesday
Summer Parkways is adding a scavenger hunt to the festivities.
The 4-mile, car-free route in the Manito and Comstock neighborhoods will be open to pedestrians, bicyclists, skaters and other forms of human-powered transportation from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday.
Participants will be able to pick up a “Parkways Passport” at three hubs – Manito Park at Manito Place and Manito Boulevard, Jefferson Elementary at Division Street and Manito Boulevard, and Comstock Park at Post Street and 32nd Avenue. They will then collect stamps at booths along the route. When the passport is full, it can be turned in for prizes and entered into a raffle for a chance to win SpokeFest registration for a family of four.
Also this year, SpokeFest will give away 10 Strider bikes for children 18 months to 5 years old. To enter the raffle, test out the bikes from 6 to 7:15 p.m. on the north side of Jefferson Elementary. The raffle drawing will be at 7:30 p.m.; entrants must be present to win.
