Police: Man locked himself in bathroom with 3-year-old son, heroin needles
When police showed up at his north Spokane home Friday night, a man allegedly barricaded himself in a bathroom with his 3-year-old son and multiple containers and syringes of heroin.
Patrick R. Agos, 30, was wanted for assault in connection with two incidents earlier in the day, according to court documents.
Officers found Agos at his residence at 914 E. Nebraska Ave. They informed him he would be arrested by shouting through the front door, but he refused to come outside, court records say.
Inside the home, officers could hear the toddler crying and believed Agos was trying to hold him hostage in the bathroom, they wrote in court documents. They broke open the bathroom door and found Agos with a needle sticking out of his left arm, several others scattered on the sink and puddles of dark liquid that were later identified as heroin, court records say. His son stood beside him.
Agos is being held in the Spokane County Jail and faces charges of first-degree burglary, second-degree assault, unlawful imprisonment, endangerment with a controlled substance, and driving under the influence with a suspended license.
