The Dirt: Tainio building plant near I-90
Tainio Technology & Technique, a Spokane-area agriculture business, has launched a project to build its new headquarters and manufacturing facility near Interstate 90 and West Thorpe Road.
Located at 4814 S. Ben Franklin Lane, the $1.4 million, 15,000-square-foot project will have office, lab, warehouse and research production spaces.
The business is expected to move into the new facility in December from its location at S. 12102 Andrus Road in Cheney. Founded more than 25 years ago, the family-owned company provides sustainable, biological agriculture and farm products with an emphasis on creating healthy soils and crops.
Tainio products are distributed through a network of dealers throughout the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Central America.
Spokane Valley boutique expands
Pine Street Market & Boutique is expanding in the Opportunity Shopping Center.
Owners Tom and Katy Brown have leased additional space to spread the Spokane Valley store into nearly 23,000 square feet at 12103-12107 E. Sprague Ave. The store sells vintage items, antiques and reconditioned furniture. The store previously occupied two suites and now will take up three spaces.

Promotion company leases at Riverstone
Custom Den, an engraving and promotions company, has leased about 2,000 square feet of space in Coeur d’Alene’s Riverstone Village.
Custom Den will occupy the space located at 2035 Beebe Blvd. under a five-year agreement. Kiemle & Hagood agents were Casey Brazil, Pat Eberlin and Chris Schreiber.
South Hill apartment building sold
C2 Investments LLC, of Spokane, has purchased Cliff Drive Apartments in Spokane.
The 11-unit building is located at the 200 blocks of West Cliff Drive and West Ninth Avenue.
Mitch Swenson and Dallas Lightner, both of Black Commercial, were agents involved with the sale.
Cellphone company leases in Pines Square
Telecell Spokane Inc., operating as MetroPCS, is leasing about 1,500 square feet in Spokane Valley’s Pines Square.
The company sells prepaid cellphones and will occupy space at 1519 N. Pines Road.
