Man found dead in street identified

The man found dead in a North Spokane street Monday afternoon has been identified as Dustin L. Maclean, 26.

Police and Spokane Fire Department medics were called to the 1600 block of East Columbia Avenue around 5:30 p.m. Monday after 911 callers reported that an injured man had collapsed in the street. Maclean had what appeared to be injuries to his face and died at the scene, according to a police news release.

The cause and manner of Maclean’s death is still under investigation by the Medical Examiner.

There were reports of an explosion in the area shortly after 5 p.m. but police do not believe the incident is related to Maclean, the news release said.
